Enphase microinverters defy the odds

Another stellar install by the team in Bangalow. This system defied the odds with 45 all-black SunPower panels spanning 11 roof surfaces! The only solution (you guessed it) – Enphase microinverters!

Roof penetrations – no problem!

The boys worked around a chimney flue, TV antenna and various skylights to get these beautiful all-black SunPower panels in the optimum postion. The system replaces an older SMA string inverter system that wasn’t keeping up with the homeowner’s demands.

Insulated from rising energy prices

Light Touch Solar & Electrical was initially engaged to install a 20-panel Enphase microinverter system during construction of this beautiful new home in Pottsville. Two years later, the customer called back to order a further 18 panels, which were installed on the remaining roof surface. Now with a combined 38 panels, this household is well insulated from rising energy prices.

Klip-Lok metal roof sheeting

Klip-Lok metal roof sheeting – manufactured in Australia by Lysaght – is becoming commonplace among low-pitch roofs. With no penetrations, it offers great waterproof performance. However, solar mounting systems typically utilise a roof’s existing screw lines to fasten rails. So when it came to installing this large system on a new Klip-Lok roof in Suffolk Park, Clenergy’s non-penetrative Klip-Lok clamps were the perfect fit!

Byron Bay Golf Club

When the Byron Bay Golf Club approached us with some hefty electricity bills, it was clear that solar would go a long way to solving their problem. Now with 25kW on the golf buggy shed, the club regularly produces and consumes over 150kWh onsite per day! Even better, members can track the system’s generation throughout the day from the clubhouse thanks to a Solar Analytics live data display.

Enphase microinverters in action

This system in East Ballina features 34 SunPower panels installed over five roof surfaces. It also features three Tesla Powerwalls with a combined storage capacity of 42kWh! That’s enough to see this all-electric home through a grid outage lasting several days. Note the Powerwall stacking kit used to save space against the back wall of the garage.

Electric vehicle charging

Light Touch Solar & Electrical installed the original solar and battery system at this commercial property in Bangalow in 2017. However, the owner subsequently purchased an electric vehicle so wanted to upgrade and add charging infrastructure. With electric vehicles on the rise in Australia, this is becoming a familiar conversation.

Minimising the impact of shade

Here is another beautiful new build home we recently worked on in Suffolk Park. The property is subject to a large protected tuckeroo located directly to the north. To the extent possible, we installed panels away from the shade path of the tree, however Enphase microinverters ensure those that do receive shade don’t affect others in the system. The property also benefits from a Tesla Powerwall which kicks in within 100th of a second to supply electricity when the solar system is not keeping up with demand.
